Privacy policy

This page explains what personal information I collect when you get in touch or book a job, what I do with it, and what your rights are.
Who I am
Bond Exterior Cleaning is run by me, Andrew Bond, as a sole trader based in North Wales. I'm the "data controller" for your information, which means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email me at mrbondcleans@gmail.com or call 07845 700335.
What I collect
When you ask for a quote. If you use the form on this website, I get your name, phone number, address and the services you're interested in. If you contact me by phone, WhatsApp, email, Facebook or Instagram instead, I'll have whatever you send me. That's usually your name, number and address, and sometimes photos of the job.
When I do a job for you. The address and details of the job, your quote and invoice, when you paid and how much, and any notes I need to do the work (like where the outside tap is, or how to get into the back garden).
Photos. I take before and after photos on every job. They're a record of the work, and they let me show you the result.
When you visit this website. The site is hosted by Wix, which collects basic technical information such as your browser, device and the pages you looked at. I don't use this to identify you.
What I use it for
-
To reply to you and give you a quote
-
To arrange, carry out and invoice the work
-
To keep the business records the law requires me to keep
-
To deal with any problem or complaint about a job
-
If you're already a customer, to let you know when your next clean is due. Tell me to stop at any time and I will.
I will never sell your information, rent it out, or pass it to anyone else for their own marketing.
Photos of your property
I sometimes post before and after photos on this website, my Google profile, Facebook and Instagram. I'll only post photos of your property if you've said that's fine. I won't show house numbers, number plates or people, and I only ever name the town, never the street. If you change your mind later, tell me and I'll take them down.
Reviews
If you leave me a review on Google, I may copy it onto this website. I'll only show your first name and your town.
Why I'm allowed to use your information
UK data protection law says I need a lawful reason for using personal information. Mine are:
-
Quotes and jobs: you've asked me to quote for, or carry out, work for you.
-
Business records: the law requires me to keep them for tax purposes.
-
Reminders to existing customers, and sorting out complaints: it's in my legitimate interest as a business, and you can object at any time.
-
Posting photos of your property: your permission, which you can take back at any time.
Who else sees it
I don't share your information with anyone, except the services I use to run the business. They store it on my behalf and aren't allowed to use it for anything else:
-
Wix, which hosts this website and the quote form
-
Google, for email, my Google Business Profile and website visitor statistics (Google Analytics)
-
Meta (WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram), if you message me there
-
Xero, for quotes, invoices and accounts
-
Monzo, my business bank
Some of these companies store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by safeguards approved under UK law.
I'd only give your information to anyone else, such as HMRC, if the law required me to.
How long I keep it
-
Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
-
Customer, quote and invoice records: kept for six years after your last job, because I have to keep business records for tax, and in case of any later claim.
-
Photos of your property: kept as a record of the work, unless you ask me to delete them.
Keeping it safe
Your information is kept on password-protected devices and in password-protected accounts that only I have access to.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
-
give you a copy of the information I hold about you
-
correct anything wrong
-
delete your information (except anything I have to keep for tax records)
-
stop sending you reminders, or stop using your information where I rely on legitimate interests
-
take down photos of your property
-
limit how I use your information, or send it to you in a format you can pass on to someone else
Just email or message me. It's free, and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website is built on Wix, which sets a small number of cookies so the site works properly and stays secure. I also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show me which pages people read. It doesn't tell me who you are, and it only runs if you allow it through the cookie banner. To change your choice at any time, use the round button in the bottom-left corner of this page. The list of cookies Wix uses is on its page, Cookies and Your Wix Site (support.wix.com/en/article/cookies-and-your-wix-site). You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
Children
My services are for homeowners, landlords and businesses. This website isn't aimed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
